Dr Jeffrey M Kestenberg
– General Dentist
Dr Jeffrey Kestenberg graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1980 and completed his Master’s Degree in prosthodontics in 1982. In 1983 he was awarded a fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
He has a keen interest in micro-dentistry, minimally invasive dentistry and laser dentistry. In recognition of his efforts, Jeff was awarded a Fellowship of the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry. He also has an interest in the dental treatment of tongue tie and /or lip tie, snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea.
Jeff has been at Coburg Dental Group since 1981 and is a consultant in Prosthodontics at Monash Medical Centre where he treats cancer patients after mouth surgery to reconstruct their teeth.
He has also been a clinical teacher and examiner for final year students at the University of Melbourne and is an examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Furthermore he is a Panel member for the Dental Board of Australia / Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and has mentored and audited dentists for those organizations.
He has also lectured locally, interstate and overseas to undergraduate and graduate dentists on laser dentistry, prosthodontics and obstructive sleep apnoea.
Dr Matthew Siebel
– General Dentist
Matt started working at Coburg Dental Group in 2011 as an oral health therapist. He has since completed his dental degree in 2015, and two-years additional training in orthodontics in 2016-2017. He has demonstrated in both the orthodontic and prosthodontic fields of dentistry.
Matt strives to help all his patients feel comfortable throughout their dental appointments and knows that this requires a different approach for each individual. He believes that education is the most important role of any health professional and that by helping patients to understand all aspects of their dental health, the best results can be achieved. This includes thoroughly discussing any options available for management of problems that may arise.
Orthodontics (braces), general restorative and aesthetic treatment, and treatment planning are Matt’s dental passions. However, he incorporates all facets of dentistry in the plans he develops and will regularly work alongside fellow dentists within the practice or external specialists to achieve the ideal outcome for all patients.
Dr Christina Jovanovic
– General Dentist
Dr Christina Jovanovic graduated with a Masters-level Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Melbourne and previously a Bachelor of Medical Science. Christina then worked as a Dental Resident at Monash Medical Centre, treating medically compromised patients and working closely with specialists in all fields of medicine and dentistry. She gained much experience in treatment planning for challenging and complex cases, managing dental trauma, and treating a wide array of rare and interesting dental anomalies in children and adults.
Christina believes in providing ethical, high quality and comprehensive dental care for all her patients, placing utmost importance on long term good oral health. Christina shows great care towards very anxious patients and ensures that all of those she treats are made to feel comfortable, offering pain-free dentistry and treating them as if they were her own family. Her passion for dentistry covers a broad range of topics but she takes a keen interest in oral surgery, endodontics (root canal treatment), aesthetic dentistry and paediatrics.
She continually strives to expand her skills and knowledge through ongoing and regular professional development and is a current member of the Australian Dental Association. Christina has served on the Australian Dental Association Victorian Board (ADAVB) Recent Graduates and Students’ Committee from 2013 – 2018, has tutored dental students from The University of Melbourne and is currently serving on the ADAVB Continuing Professional Development Committee.
Dr Claudia Beltran – General Dentist
Dr. Claudia Beltran qualified as a Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Colombia in 2005.
Upon completion of her master’s degree, she established her private practice providing a full range of surgical services to patients such as implant surgery, orthognathic surgery, surgical extractions, including wisdom teeth, and treatment of facial trauma.
An opportunity to broaden her horizons and experience the Australian lifestyle led Claudia to move to Australia and then she successfully obtained her Australian Dental Board registration as a general practitioner.
Claudia continued to further her knowledge in dental Implants and All on 4 surgery. She had the opportunity to travel to Portugal and accomplished the clinical residency from the creator of the All on 4 concept. She has been practicing it in Australia since then. Also, she obtained a graduate diploma in dental implants from James Cook University.
Dr. Claudia is a member of ADA (Australian Dental Association), ITI (International team for implantology), ICOMS (international conference of oral and maxillofacial surgery), ACCOMF (oral and maxillofacial association of Colombia), and AOS (Australasian Osseointegration Society).
Dr. Claudia combines her surgical skills, knowledge, and experience from all aspects of her training to provide a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan.
Currently, Dr. Claudia’s interests include wisdom teeth extractions, complex extractions, implant surgery, All on 4 surgery, bone grafting, sinus lift, surgical exposure of impacted teeth, and dentoalveolar surgery. Also, she is accredited at the Avenue and Glenferrie Private Hospitals for general anaesthetic procedures.
Claudia is very passionate about what she does, and she also finds time for her other passions: her family, traveling, and playing tennis.
Dr Brandon Lim
- General Dentist
Dr Brandon Lim completed his Masters of Dentistry at La Trobe University. Brandon then went on to work as part of the dental teams at The Alfred Hospital and Monash Medical Centre.
Brandon is dedicated to providing the best quality of care to his patients and aims to make everyone’s dental visit a welcoming one. At Coburg Dental Group, he finds it particularly rewarding treating families and seeing the positive impacts created for patients throughout their dental journey.
Brandon enjoys all disciplines of dentistry with special interests in restorative dentistry and root canal treatment. He enjoys combining these skills to save teeth and working with patients to attain a healthy new smile.
Brandon has a passion for continuing education and staying at the forefront of dentistry. He serves on multiple committees with the Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch and is an Affiliate of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. In addition, he is involved in research as a Clinical Tutor for The University of Melbourne and is a preclinical demonstrator for dental students at La Trobe University.
Dr Imogen Bessell
– General Dentist
Dr Imogen Bessell is a passionate and caring dentist, graduating from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Dental Health Science and a Masters-level degree in Dentistry. Throughout her studies, Dr Bessell has had the opportunity to work in a range of clinical settings, caring for patients from Bendigo to Mildura. Dr Bessell is known for her caring and gentle nature which translates to her work, where she places emphasis on dentistry delivered with a gentle approach to ensure her patients remain comfortable to work towards their oral health care goals together. Dr Bessell is passionate about providing ethical and comprehensive care, with particular interests in restorative and aesthetic dentistry in both children and adults alike. She greatly enjoys being able to place patients at ease, especially those who are particularly nervous at first.
Dr Bessell strives to ensure her patients achieve their ideal treatment outcomes by remaining at the forefront of dentistry through regular continuing professional development. She is currently an active member serving on the Australian Dental Association Victorian Board Recent Graduates and Students’ Committee. Outside of her wonderful profession, she enjoys an active lifestyle filled with tennis, soaking up the sun at the beach and trying new restaurants. As a big foodie, restaurant recommendations are most welcome!
Dr Hermawan Tjoa
– General Dentist
Harry completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at The University of Western Australia in 2019, following which he moved to Albany WA where he practised in private practice for three years. Practising in a small country town allowed him to extend and broaden his skills rapidly. Harry moved to Melbourne in January 2023 to commence the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Implants) at The University of Melbourne. He joined Coburg Dental Group in February 2023.
Harry strives to provide quality dental care in a calming environment to all of his patients. A firm believer in patient-centred care, he encourages his patients to play an active role in their dental management. Prior to dentistry, Harry had practised as a registered nurse in both public and private hospitals. His nursing training provided him with an excellent chair-side manner and communication skills.
Harry is a keen learner who craves knowledge and development. He routinely attends professional development courses and listens to a wide range of educational dental podcasts. He is passionate about comprehensive dentistry with the focus of contemporary adhesive and minimally invasive dentistry.
Marcia Limas
– Oral Health Therapist
Marcia is our Oral Health Therapist who graduated from The University of Melbourne. She is known among our patients for being very gentle, bright, and caring. Patients love her positivity and patience, creating a relaxing atmosphere in the dental chair – especially to patients that tend to get nervous.
Marcia enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with special interests in periodontics (gum and bone health) as well as aesthetics dentistry. She continuously keeping her dental knowledge and technology up to date by attending conferences and courses, ensuring to provide all her patients with the best treatment and care.
In her spare time, Marcia loves baking, painting, and practising Pilates. She believes Pilates helps her to stay fit and healthy. Marcia is originally from Indonesia, growing up right here in Australia.
Elle Frazer
- Oral Health Therapist
Elle graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2012 with a Bachelor of Oral Health. She worked as an Oral Health Therapist in both the public sector and at a private specialist paediatric clinic for several years. Elle has been an active member of the Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapy Association (ADOHTA) holding executive positions including vice president and publicity officer. Elle returned to university to complete her Diploma of Education at ACU in 2015. Elle then worked as a secondary school teacher (focusing on science and biology) before having some time off to have her two young children. Elle and her husband also own a personal training studio, so in her spare time she loves to keep fit and play netball.
Jessica – Practice Manager
Jessica started at Coburg Dental Group in 2008 as a trainee dental assistant, moving on from that she took on more administrative roles such as Receptionist and Assistant Manager.
The team spirit and common goals shared by the Coburg Dental Group family is something Jessica values greatly. She is always looking for ways to improve our practice for both our staff and patients.
Jessica is always up for a challenge and enjoys participating in further education that can help improve the practice.
In her spare time, she values time with her friends and family including her two beautiful children.
Dental Hygienists
Mohammed
Mohammed graduated as a Dental Hygienist fom the University of Melbourne. He has been working at Coburg Dental Group since 2000, providing many years of invaluable experience. He completed a Diploma in Oral Health Therapy at the University of Melbourne, after completing a Bachelor of Nursing degree at tertiary level.
As an active and long-standing member of the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia (D.H.A.A.), Mohammed has participated and completed many continuing educational programs and courses all around the world, including in the U.S.A., the U.A.E., and Indonesia. This has enabled him to add to his already impressive dental skills and knowledge, and also keeps him up-to-date with anything new in dentistry, enhancing the quality of his treatment.
A very experienced and well-rounded dental hygienist, Mohammed takes exceptional care that is individually tailored to all his clients, who come from all walks of life, and from all parts of the world.
Vicky
Vicky is a registered dental hygienist and has a Diploma in Oral Health Therapy from the University of Melbourne. Graduating in 2002, she received both the Dental Practice Board of Victoria Prize and Dental Hygienists Association Award for ‘Best Clinical Skills, with an emphasis toward patient care and management’.
She previously worked in the field of orthodontics and has been working with us at Coburg Dental Group since January 2003. She has also undertaken extra training in the field of Orofacial Myology and works with our tongue and lip tie patients. She helped to develop the “thumbstop” program at Coburg Dental Group.
Alexandra
Alex began working at Coburg Dental Group in 2010 as a trainee dental assistant, completing her Certificate III in Dental Assisting at RMIT. Since then, she has undertaken several roles at the practice, including administration and management positions, her current one being a registered Dental Hygienist. Alex completed an Advanced Diploma in Oral Health (Dental Hygiene) in Adelaide where she was the recipient of the Jane Chalmers Memorial Award for Excellence in Special Needs and Geriatric Dentistry. Alex is also a member of the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia.
Outside of work Alex enjoys live music, walking her dog (Bruno the Pug) and watching the Western Bulldogs win.
Kate
Kate has been with Coburg Dental Group since 2007 after graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2000. Outside of work Kate enjoys spending time with her husband and young family of four boys.
Kate has wanted to be a dental hygienist since she was 9 years old and loves her job to this day. Kate has additional qualifications in orthodontics, tooth whitening, lasers, intra and extra oral radiology.
Kate has been an active member of the Dental Hygiene Association of Victoria holding executive positions including President and Treasurer. More recently Kate has taken a keen interest in Orofacial Myology and is currently completing her Diploma of Breast Feeding Management. This adds to her interest in oral development, infant and childhood feeding, airways, swallowing and function.
